Your Hair
Your hair should be both stylish and carefree on your wedding day. If you're having a stylist prepare your hair, this will be accomplished by putting your hair up in a beautiful style that fits your look, then spraying and pinning every curl, lock, and wisp so nothing moves. At the end of the appointment you may feel like your hair could easily work back-up as a helmet. But as you go through a very busy and hectic day, the last think you want to worry about is your hair getting in the way or worse, going the wrong way.
Here are a few ideas as you get ready for your appointment.
- Bring in several pictures of what you want from magazines.
- Do not be afraid to tell the stylist while he/she is doing the hair that you want things done differently (i.e. more hair up or down)....you don't want to feel uncomfortable with your hair on such a special day!
- Call lots of places. In areas where there are lots of weddings, there are lots of people that specialize in updo's and bride's hairstyles.
- Go online and find local wedding advertisements for hairstylists.
- Take your veil with you. Your stylist will affix it for you.
- Bring in a few accessories for your hair....barrettes, pins with pearls or rhinestones, ribbon, etc. You may find that when you get there, one accessory looks better than another.
- Give yourself an extra 30 minutes so you are not rushing if the appointment runs late.
Here's a tip for AFTER the wedding. Buy Neutrogena shampoo and a really good reconstructive conditioner. The Neutrogena is very strong and seems to clean out the hair spray pretty well, but because it is a very harsh shampoo, a good conditioner is another must-have.
